This is my kind of story. I'm a cat lover, so don't take away the cats including my own XD To the serious business that is this book review: I found this story to be a little underwhelming. I just couldn't allow myself to take a break in between. With this, the week begins with flashbacks of past events, incidences, and people he'd once loved, lost connections and reliving those moments for a second chance. but usually odd in a good way. My thoughts were too much for me to handle, so I turned to look out the window of the plane. But I have a weakness for stories about magic wishing schemes, and its premise is kind of like a Japanese. The ending is also pretty unsatisfying. A look-alike devil comes to offer him an exchange. this book honestly made me cry. He can live an extra day each time he asks the Devil to remove an item from the world — the items, of course, to be chosen by the Devil. It was clunky, American English, and made me feel like an American teen had written it. "It seemed to me that there were all kinds of rules made up by human beings—rules that begin to fall apart when you look at them closely. After picking up a copy on a whim from the library, I did find myself quickly transported into the world of a man who is dying from a terminal illness but is given the chance to try and live longer thanks to the Devil showing up and advising him that each day, the dying man must get rid of one thing in the world. The first item is mobile phones. It's profound in that very clean-cut and simple way that Japanese authors manage to accomplish perfectly. It's endearing and will remain as one of the most memorable reads. What would happen if we woke up one day and they were gone forever? The other is "The Traveling Cat Chronicles," by Hiro Arikawa and the two books are similar to the point that there's no need to read both, unle "In order to gain something, you have to lose something. Yes there's a caveat: you need to remove something from this world inorder to increse your life span. This is also one of the few books with a spoiler in the title, given that going in you know the devil is removing things from the world each day. " The disappearance of clocks could have led to an interesting account of how business and society started behaving without them, but there's nothing about it at all - surely even someone with the ennui of the narrator would have been slightly curious.
